My goal is to provide quality lactation care to families in order to educate, support and empower them to reach their personal goals.

Please be aware of my policy for secure virtual contact, invoice policy, and follow-ups below:

Secure Contact Portals

Your appointment(s) are very important to me and I understand that sometimes you require direct answers to questions or concerns. The secure portal chat and secure email are monitored everyday between the hours of 9am-7pm CST. I will return your message as soon as possible. You may also email me at joleenbice@milkandmoolactation.com. Below are my methods of secure virtual contact (HIPAA Compliant). Once you are a client, these are the only virtual portals I will respond or upload to you on. Failure to adhere to my terms and conditions for secure virtual communication and document uploading, can result from discontinuing to serve you as my client.

Invoices and Pre-Payment

All booking is done one-on-one through email and completed through a secure portal for communication and sharing information.

Secure and HIPAA compliant payment methods are as followed: Credit/Debit, HSA and FSA payment, or cash payment. Other methods may not be considered secure; however, if you need a different method of payment, you must submit in writing and acknowledge that it may not be secure to protect your identity and health information.

For virtual visits, I will invoice you a pre-payment invoice a % of the service booking to reserve your spot on my calendar (not including fees, mileage, or add-on services). The remainder of your FULL booking will be due in full at the time of service or the morning of the virtual service no later than 2 hours before the session start time.

For in-home visits and office visits, I will invoice you a pre-payment invoice a % of the service booking to reserve your spot on my calendar (not including fees, mileage, or add-on services). The remainder of your FULL booking will be due in full at the time of your in-person service using a card reader, manual entry, direct link, or cash.

I can issue you a Super Bill, separate from the invoice, for you to submit on your own time to your insurance company. If your insurance does not reimburse you or cover lactation care specifics, you will not be refunded. Payment is final. It is your duty to reach out to your insurance to find out what is covered under your policy. The ACA covers lactation care as a preventable service with insurance companies. If you would like me to submit your claim to insurance on your behalf, I will charge a non-refundable processing and handling fee of $25.

Follow-Ups and Referrals


For flange fitting counseling, we will book a free follow-up within 2-6 weeks to touch base about the current sizing, concerns, and additional re-sizing if needed.

If I decide that a referral is needed, I will leave you with verbal and written information about "WHEN, WHO, and HOW” to contact the provider I am referring you to. Once I refer you, it is entirely up to your own discretion if and when you choose to contact the provider in which I referred you to and Joleen Bice of Milk and Moon Lactation Counseling LLC is not liable to any actions or decisions you make about your care/health or your infant(s) care/health. I will offer you resources that may allow you to make your own informed decision.


Virtual Disclaimer: There are limitations to a virtual counseling that are subject to Milk and Moon Lactation Counseling LLC’s providing as deemed appropriate. Virtual counseling lacks the importance in the physical assessment of latch evaluation and feeding relationship, and physical assessment of the appearance of the parent’s breast/chest. Virtual counseling is not meant to replace the need or option for ideal in-person assistance from a lactation professional and should only be used during specific circumstance.
